KORTE OMSCHRIJVING
|
Our objective is to provide our incoming Erasmus students with a good basic knowledge of the Dutch language and Flemish culture in a first step to acquaint them with the area in which they will be spending their Erasmus period and so feel at home. In a second step they will feel what it means to be European citizens and get to know the variety of European countries. In a third step we believe these students will grow as world citizens, who are acquainted to different cultures.
First of all, the social- cultural conventions characteristic for Flanders are mixed into the Dutch course. The supporting materials also reflect everyday life in Flanders.
Furthermore you will have the opportunity to visit the city centre of Antwerp, the town hall, the art nouveau quarter, the diamond centre, the fashion museum, the museum of photography, etc. You will receive a booklet with guidelines and tasks to perform.
We will organise a walk through specific intercultural districts such as the Turkish or Jewish district. A visit to the European Parliament in Brussels will be scheduled.
A lecture or workshop on the main political structures in Belgium and on intercultural communication will help you with an insight in Belgian live.
During the academic year, the Erasmus Student Network organises trips to all major Flemish cities.
